So, it’s all but official that the new name for the Metro design language is Modern UI. Okay, fine. That’s better than renaming it to Windows 8 as TechCrunch heard. Still, I think Transit would have been a much better name.

Transit keeps those notions of speed and motion in mind (well, at least for non-Americans, from what I’ve heard of public transit in the USA), and the concepts of modernity and cleanliness are obvious from just seeing it.

Sure, that’s not much of a reason to use the name, but I like it more than Modern.
